Purpose of OERC India
Open Educational Resources for Cancer (OERC) and OERC India provide web-based open access to high quality cancer learning modules to nurses and caregivers in education and healthcare delivery settings, with a special emphasis on India.
The intent of this site is to enhance and increase learning resources for nurses, allied medical personnel, and thus, support education and expansion of the cancer workforce at all levels.
Cancer educators in India conduct an ongoing needs assessment to determine the content of the OERC-India portal. Assessment is a continuous process to define content requests and needs.
OERC India learning resources cover diverse aspects of cancer. It promotes global sharing of cancer educational resources as outlined in the World Health Organization World Cancer Report 2008.
You can use OERC India to share knowledge that assists India and the cancer authorities to develop cancer control strategies and programs.
The learning resources enhance the ability for nurses and other caregivers in India to provide care for cancer patients and their families. Selected materials are specific for patient and family education.
